Although Climax, Virginia is a real place, I have used poetic license to make it larger and more developed than it is in reality. This is Climax as I wish it were today. It is near my mother's birthplace and childhood home of Callands. This series is a tribute to her, now deceased, and the determination and love of life of the people who reside in these Central Virginia woods.
